Room 8 rocks!!! Today we did our final screen printing with fabric ink on 100% cotton material. The cotton is more absorbent than other materials. This was an even more difficult task than yesterday because we had to cut the inside of our image out and leave the outside intact. Once again Mrs Berkahn guided us through the steps and our helpers helped. We had to put paper inside our shirt to stop ink leaching through to the other side and then carefully place our template on, just like a stencil. The finished results left us gasping with awe and gave us all a terrific sense of accomplishment. Thanks also to Mrs Barrow who came in and ironed the shirts to heat-set the ink.
One of the hot topics for discussion is going to be copyright, intellectual property and creative commons. Please pop in and see our screen printing or make a comment below. :)
