The Triangle group in math have been learning about place value. We are very good at knowing what place value house a digit belongs in and now we are working out what those numbers actually mean.
We are doing this through building the numbers given using ones, tens and (some) hundreds place value materials. Did you know that the number 900 means that there is 9 hundreds in it, which is the same as 90 tens, which is also the same as 900 ones! We are working on building these so that we can put a picture into our head when we are thinking about the numbers.
Welcome to the Pounamu Team blog! The Pounamu Team is made up of Rooms 2, 4, 7 and 8 from Ruahine School near Dannevirke, NZ. We will use this blog to share our 2015 learning journey with you.
